My Cars!
I've only owned 2 cars in my life: an Infiniti G20 and my latest one: Subaru Impreza sports wagon. However, there have been lots of cars in my life, and I wanted to make a web page devoted to them.
Here are some memories of my cars.
Early 80s - 1974 Dodge Dart
This was a poop-mobile. It smelled like old car even before I was old enough to know what old car smelled like. It was old, had a billion miles on it, and looked like crap. Vivid memory - sitting in my duct taped enforced car seat that had the faint scent of old car and vomit. I'm sure that model was shown to probably worsen a child's chance of making it through a crash, but hey, I'm still here!

This isn't a picture of the real car. Our car didn't look nearly this good and the color was darker.
Mid 80s - Oldsmobile
I don't remember the model, but what I do remember is vomiting in the back seat sitting next to Julie and Karen. We were on the way to my Grandparent's house and I was reading the instructions on how to transform my latest Transformer named Grimlock (you know, the Tyrannosaurus dinobot) and I barfed all over the floor of the passenger back seat. I learned that I could not read in the car.

"Me Grimlock strongest!!!"
1986 - VW Jetta
Cute little car that was broken into at my Dad's work to steal the nice new, expensive radio he had just put in. I went into school the next day and told everyone about it for show and tell.

Again, this is not the real car.. We would never have such lame wheels.

So that's who stole the radio!
Early 1990s - A bunch of lame Subarus
You might be saying to yourself, "Don't you own a Subaru right now?" Yes I do, but it's not lame like these cars. One didn't even have 4 wheel drive. The hubcaps kept getting stolen, and they looked just dorky
Early 1990s - 1986 Ford Mustang Convertible
I discovered this car for my dad while driving one day and convinced him to buy it. It was a great car, even though I was not old enough to drive it. It was fast as hell with the 5.0 liter V8 engine and guzzled gas like you wouldn't believe.
1987 Ford Taurus Station Wagon (1987-2002)
This car by far has the most amount of memories. We bought this car right when the Ford Taurus came out and it was the hottest car on the market at the time. Everyone was getting it and I was so excited to sit in the trunk in the back seats. Here's a list of some memories in that car.
Earliest memory - Going to a cub scout meeting with some friends. I think that Aaron Glick was one of them, but I can't really remember.
Multiple family vacations to New Hampshire driving along the Kangamangus Highway listening to Neil Diamond.
My dad hit and killed a deer on Rt. 10 outside Wentworth's Ice Cream. That cost $1300 in damages, the deer's life, and a walk home from Dave Goldstein's house, since my dad couldn't come pick me up. Had I known how much I love venison, I would have insisted on keeping the deer.
I learned how to drive on this car, got my license, and put my Phish sticker on the back. I was so proud. I also spent countless hours listening to my >60 tapes of Phish shows.
Driving around aimlessly until we used up 1/2 the gas tank. This is what we did for fun in Cheshire. I did this with Little Grim, back in the band days.
Driving many bandees around after our competitions to Denny's or Bickfords.
Driving home from Denny's in 1st gear because the transmission failed.
Getting hit in the parking lot of Everybody's Supermarket by some creepy old man who started rubbing my shoulder while apologizing for hitting me. I was so freaked out that I just took off.
Numerous shleps back and forth from Uconn with my shit and my sister's crap.
Taking up 6 parking spaces (really) when I would park at the high school for band practice. Try it some time.
Taking our final voyage around the neighborhood.

Last run with the Taurus
1993 Infiniti G20 (black, 5 speed)
We got this one thinking that it was a good, less expensive substitute for the BMW 3 series. We soon found out that this was incorrect and it was quickly sold to buy...
1994 BMW 325i
This car is wonderful. I have fond memories of this car, including getting the rare treat of taking it to the BBYO formal dance (Beau-Sweetheart) with my then girlfriend Ashleigh. We drove around Trumbull trying to find the person's house that we were going to stay at for 2 hours. Finally we drove home on the Meritt Pkwy and I drove the fastest I've ever driven in my life that night. Let's just leave it at that.
Mid 1990s - Nissan Pathfinder
We bought this car from our neighbor, Ron, when he wanted to get rid of it. It was a great car, though the brakes sucked, and it was our first SUV. We sold it to some Italian guys who bought it on the spot and paid in cash with small unmarked bills.
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Our first and last leased car. We really like this car but it was forever tainted by the threat of going over the designated amount of miles allowed. Big waste of money.
MY PERSONAL CARS
1993 Infiniti G20 (white automatic)
We discovered the secret of the used Infiniti G20s in 1997. These cars depreciate like crazy in value, but they are well built cars. We quickly bought this one from Harvey Keitel's distant cousin. Karen and I shared this car until I graduated from college and bought, you guessed it, another infiniti! This car is no longer with us anymore. It basically died a slow painful, and expensive death.
"Genie" - 1995 Infiniti G20 (green, 5 speed)
I was so happy to use the money I had saved from living at home during my first semester of medical school to buy this car. We bought it from a guy who owned a liquor store. I loved this car. I put a deceptacon sticker on the back and it told everyone where my loyalty stood.
Fondest memory with this car - getting into an accident with an ambulance on the way to my Ob-Gyn rotation. It was their fault and they ended up paying for the bill, but it took forever to get everything straightened out. What I learned from that is to never trust the police when they said that you just need the "case number" which will have all the information on it. Get the insurance info from the person who hit you, even if they are an ambulance.

"Toby" 2005 Subaru Impreza Sports Wagon RS
This car was my first brand new car that I've ever purchased. I needed a car with 4wd to make it through the nasty winters of CT and also be able to get to the hospital when I needed to. It's custom built to my liking and I am very happy with it. Check her/him out.

That's it for now. I'll keep you informed.
